Dehorning Eeeek!
Most folk recommend not anaesthetising as it has a 30% kill rate on the animals. Luckily once you're done, they're all nice and happy again ina coupel of minutes.
This is the restraint box used to contain them comfortably while dehorning.

Here's the restraint box ready to go, with the iron in the fire, all ready to go.
This is buttons, after the job is done. Here's hoping I got it right.
Ick!
That's it for the nasty jobs until I put a ring on the boy (1-2 weeks away), and then the first vaccination.

Oh that must be distressing, for everyone involved!
I helped dehorn some cows once, when I moonlighted as a farm hand. We hit a vein on a few of them, and I still have the image of bolld pooling in the dried mud divots in the pen...kinda icky. but nessecary.
