You're Kidding! Part 1a

It's been far too long since I blogged this stuff...
so...
first up, this years kids;

These two were born on Sunday, a billy and a doe to Stella, both healthy, although they had the usual difficulty with Stella's kids, which is that their first poo always blocks up under their tails and sets. I spent a hour on Monday evening soaking them in a warm bath and cleaning their bums. They were much releived.

The little girl has been named "Maisy", sounds like a cow's name to me.....



These two billies were born to Buttons, on the preceding weekend. Found them on Monday night when I got home from work. They were in perfect health. Very very lucky. Turned them and Buttons into a stall, and kept them in for a week, to make sure they settled OK.





The boys (includign the little fella who was born last year) have all been advertised on the work and local list as being for sale. I'll put them in the paper this weekend.

The ongoing herd makeup will be: Winston, Stella, Buttons and Maisy.

Next year I will allow them all to kid again and then sell all boys except the one that Stella might drop, and then sell Buttons once they've weaned. She's lovely, but way to shy of me. Maisy is already quite relaxed about being picked up and sits in my arm quite happily.
